Annual Chairman’s Appreciation Reception

 
This annual event honors Presidents' Council members (donors of at least $1,000 in a given year) and brings them together with key volunteers, partners, and program participants for an evening of fun and appreciation. The atmosphere is warm and inspiring. Several attendees tell us the evening feels like a “family reunion.”

Last year’s event was a tremendous success, with moving speeches and presentations. Tamika White spoke passionately of the improvements her son Tayon, has made since enrolling in an Easter Seals Child Development Center. Donna Butts, Executive Director of Generations United, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of the Easter Seals/ Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center. Governor William Donald Schaefer welcomed Richard and Rae Swirnow for their substantial gift to The Easter Seals/Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center (IGC), and five other donors Capital One, John McMahon of Miller and Long Construction, Calvin Cafritz of the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, B.F. Saul of Chevy Chase Bank, and A. James Clark of Clark Construction were inducted into the prestigious Edgar Allen Founders Society.
